Terms of Service

The agreement

These terms apply when you download Codz, create an account, or subscribe. By doing any of those things you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to bind it.

Your account

You need an account to sync usage or use Remote. Keep your email and linked Google, Apple, or GitHub account secure — anyone who controls one of those sign-in methods may be able to access your Codz account.

You are responsible for activity under your account, and you must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

What Codz does, and what it does not

Codz runs and observes coding agents that you have already installed and signed in to. It is a control surface, not a provider: your use of Claude, Cursor, Codex, OpenRouter, or any other engine remains subject to that provider's own terms and pricing.

Usage figures and cost estimates are reported for your convenience. Where a provider reports a number we pass it through with its source; where we estimate, we say so. Your provider's own billing is authoritative, and we are not liable for decisions made from these figures.

Plans and billing

Codz is free to use on your Mac. Pro costs $20 per month and adds cloud sync and Remote. Team costs $20 per seat per month, up to 100 seats, and extends Pro to every member of an organization.

Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that apply where you are.

• Adding seats to a team is prorated immediately.
• Removing seats takes effect at the next renewal and is not credited.
• Seats cannot be reduced below the number of members currently in the organization.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then.

Payments are otherwise non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. If you subscribed through the App Store, Apple's refund process applies instead.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Resell, sublicense, or provide Codz as a service to others.
• Circumvent the subscription gate, seat limits, or any technical restriction.
• Reverse engineer the service except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
• Use Codz to break the law, or to breach a provider's terms.
• Interfere with the service or attempt to access another account's data.

Your content

You keep all rights to your code and to anything your agents produce. We claim no ownership over it, and Codz does not transmit it to us.

You grant us only the narrow permission needed to operate features you switch on — for example, publishing a usage profile you have chosen to make public.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. The local application keeps working without our servers; sync, Remote, and the website depend on them.

We may change or discontinue features. If we make a change that materially reduces a paid feature, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current period.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Termination

You can stop using Codz and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date above records the current version, and we will give notice of material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use Codz after that means you accept the update.
